Head of Application Engineering

We are looking for an engineer with experience in structural calculations and engineering team management, who is highly qualified and motivated to join and lead our Project Engineering team.

As head of the Project Engineering area within the Engineering Department, you will play a key strategic role in the company, leading customer relations from a technical perspective throughout the sales and project design processes, as well as contributing to the development and continuous improvement of products by communicating market needs and requirements to the product engineering team.

All this as the head of a team, the Project Engineering team, which is highly multidisciplinary and involved in a process of international expansion.

You will work closely with the other members of the organisation in defining the company’s strategies, methodologies and procedures associated with the area of leadership, establishing, among other things, the standards to be met, the resources and the necessary budget.

Minimum requirements

• University degree in mechanical, industrial, civil or aeronautical engineering.
• 5 years of experience in the field of engineering and project development.
• Good level of English (B2/C1) and Spanish.
• Previous professional experience in leading engineering teams in the field of structural, civil or industrial engineering projects, preferably in the renewable energy and/or construction sector, will be valued.
• Solid technical knowledge of structural calculation, geotechnics and topography.
• Knowledge of finite element design software: SAP2000, CYPE, ANSYS, etc.
• Knowledge of 3D design and drafting software: AutoCAD, ZWCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
• Knowledge of international structural regulations and standards.
• Attention to detail and results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in multiple organisations.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Lead the Project Engineering area and the different teams in each of the subsidiaries.
• Serve as the main technical contact for key clients during the sales and project development processes.
• Contribute ideas and convey the needs identified based on market requirements for product development.
• Establish and define standards and criteria for the best and most efficient resolution of projects.
• Lead and contribute to the development of procedures, tools and applications for use in the area, as well as identify, validate and implement the technical software necessary for project engineering development.
• Collaborate in all activities related to customer and project acquisition, in particular by fostering relationships with customers’ technical departments.
• Contribute to the planning, organisation and monitoring of work related to the development of engineering and technical solutions associated with ongoing projects.
• Hire and train new human resources joining the area.
• Contribute to the identification of specifications, requirements and features demanded by clients and which must therefore be met by the solutions designed.
• Keep the applicable regulations and procedures specific to the area up to date, as well as promote the use of the latest ‘state of the art’ technology.
