Success Story

Project Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands archipelago, comprising more than 900 islands, is making steady progress towards energy sustainability thanks to the installation of several photovoltaic projects. These facilities, distributed across different islands, make it possible to maximise local solar resources and reduce the country’s historical dependence on fossil fuels.

Each site has required a design adapted to the extreme environmental conditions of the surroundings. Given the high risk of corrosion in coastal areas, structures with a zinc-magnesium coating have been used, a solution that is particularly resistant to salinity and humidity. This choice ensures greater durability of the system and reduced long-term maintenance.

The main benefits of the project include greater energy security, reduced dependence on fuel imports and protection against international price volatility. Thanks to this initiative, the Solomon Islands are taking a decisive step towards energy neutrality and a cleaner, more sustainable future for their island communities.
